
A Ghaziabad woman has charged an inspector, currently posted with the co-operative cell in Lucknow, and his friends with allegedly gangraping her in Ghaziabad when she was returning to her residence located in Hapur.
A case has been registered on the same at the Kavi Nagar Police Station, Ghaziabad.
Akanksha Malik name changed alleged that Inspector Vishesh Kumar Singh had raped her near Hapur Chungi. 8220;On November 3, I was on my way home located in Hapur, when a black Wagon car stopped near me and started honking. When I turned back, the car stopped close to me and the inspector pulled me inside the car. I was raped by the inspector and his friends,8221; alleged the victim.
Meanwhile, Vijay Bhushan, SP City confirmed that a case has been registered against the inspector at Kavi Nagar Police Station. 8220;The victim has earlier registered rape cases against the inspector on several occasions in various police stations. As the inspector is posted with the Lucknow branch of co-operatives, we are yet to find out whether he was in town on November 3. We are investigating the matter,8221; added Bhushan.
According to the police, the accused inspector was posted as the Chowki-in-charge, Pilkhuwa in 2005. 8220;The victim and the accused had met each other at Pilkhuwa Police Station, where the victim had gone to file a complaint. They became friendly and were allegedly in a relationship. The victim had earlier filed a rape case against the inspector in 2006 in Bulandshahar,8221; added the senior police officer.
The victim alleged that the police had refused to register a rape case against the inspector on earlier occasions. It took her a meeting with the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad, to get a case lodged. 8220;The woman has been sent for a medical examination and we are awaiting the results,8221; said Bhushan. This is not the first rape case reported against the city police. On October 10, a head constable had been charged with raping a minor. He has been absconding since the incident and the police are still looking for him.
