
HYDERABAD, April 16: Telugu Desam party president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday asked the party cadre to be prepared to go alone in the next Assembly elections which are due next year.
Addressing party leaders from Cuddapah and Narsapur Lok Sabha constituencies here, he criticised the decision of the Left allies, CPI and CPM to sever ties with the TDP. 8220;These developments are likely to create new challenges to us in the polls, but we should be ready to face any eventuality,8221; he said.
Refuting the charge that he had defected from the United Front, Naidu on the other hand accused the Left parties of drifting towards the Congress. 8220;They have decided to move closer to the Congress and that created a gap between us and them,8221; he explained.
The Chief Minister cautioned the party leaders on the possible impact of the strained relations between the allies. 8220;Till yesterday we fought all polls together in each village and today the situation is totally different. You must take note ofthe changed scenario,8221; he said.
