NOVEMBER 18: Gaurav Nandrajog of New Delhi, who is playing in this tournament for the first time, made it to the under-15 semi-finals of The Indian Express-CCI Western India squash tournament at the Cricket Club of India today.

He prevailed over Vikas Jangra of Jindal Club 9-4, 9-3, 9-1 and made the under-19 semis as well by taming compatriot Karan Singh 9-7, 10-8, 10-8. When asked whether he was playing in Mumbai due to his vacations, he replied in the negative and added that irrespective of when it is held, 8220;I8217;ve made this my regular event.8221;

In the Open event semi-finals, Anshul Manchanda will meet Navneet Narain from Services and Gajendra Singh Rathore will take on R S Brar. In the Open quarter-finals, Narain and Rathore had comfortable wins over A Chonker of Services and Niraj Shirgaonkar of Otters respectively. Mihir Sheth scored an emphatic win over Karanpal Sethi of Otters 9-1, 9-1, 9-7 in the under-15 category just as he had done in the Maharashtra State Open.

Alisha Mashruwala preventedVikram Malhotra from entering the semi-finals, despatching him 9-5, 9-5, 9-4 in the under-11. Alisha will now meet club-mate Jay Bhagat CCI, who overcame Harshjit Sethi of Khar Gymkhana 3-1, in the final.

Joshna Chinnappa of Chennai upset Supriya Balsekar 7-9, 9-5, 10-9, 9-5 in the under-19 semi-finals. Joshna will now face top seed Deepali Anvekar, who crushed Rhea Bhandare 9-3, 9-0, 9-1. In women8217;s event, Mekhla Subedar takes on Bhandare and Anvekar meets Balsekar in the semis.
