Suspended Congress leader Natwar Singh created a flutter and earned the wrath of partymen by entering the venue of a function here to mark the birth anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi on Sunday.

Noticing Singh enter the Kamaraj Auditorium, senior PMK leader G K Mani, who was addressing the gathering, announced his entry. Surprised senior Congressmen asked Singh to occupy a vacant seat next to The Hindu Editor-in-Chief N Ram on the dais. But ignored by his partymen, Singh paid floral tributes and left.

Later, addressing the gathering, the party8217;s observer for Tamil Nadu and Oversight Committee chairman Veerappa Moily, without naming Natwar, said some people had the audacity to enter the function uninvited.

Attacking Singh for levelling charges against the PM, Moily alleged that some people exploited Congress party8217;s name for personal gains. He said neither TNCC nor any Congress leader had invited Singh to the function. Apparently, Singh, who arrived here on Saturday, decided to enter while driving past the auditorium.
