Gadodia at it again

Mumbai, August 24: Mumbai lad, Gaurav Gadodia, who is representing India in the World Junior under-21 chess championship for the blind and visually impaired, scored his second consecutive win of the competition, organised by the Belgian Chess Federation for the blind under the aegis of the International Braille Chess Association IBCA at Kortrijk in Belgium, according to a AICFB release.

Gadodia, playing with black pieces, beat B Kevin of Belgium in a Sicilian Defence Dragon variation game. Gaurav now has a cent percent score, with two points from two games and shares the lead with 11 others.

According to his coach, SR Mohandas, Gadodia once again showed his aggresive nature and put his opponent on the defensive and eventually forced him to concede defeat.

Gadodia will now meet Barnowski of Poland on the fourth board. Games in the seven-round Swiss league tournament will become tougher from now on as they will feature the top ten players of the competition, which has a total of 44 players from 16countries participating. The ultimate champion will emerge on the August 29 after the seventh round.
