The Bombay High Court on Tuesday directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to probe afresh the case of forgery against Air India8217;s Commercial Director V.K. Verma, who allegedly submitted a fake medical certificate.

Justice S.S. Parkar also quashed and set aside the March 26 order of the Metropolitan Magistrate ordering that the case be closed.

The court in effect confirmed the government order transferring the case to the state CID on March 23.

However, after receiving the notification on March 29, the state CID expressed its inability to conduct the inquiry in view of the case being closed.

Then Air India8217;s chief vigilance officer S.P.S. Yadav, at the behest of the airline management, had filed a case of forgery and cheating on January 12 this year against Verma, with the Santacruz police.
