
CHANDIGARH, Nov 2: Four policemen have been suspended after they were found drunk on duty in two separate checkings.
Official sources said during night check, DSP CID Jagat Mohan suspected that a constable, Kuldip, was under the influence of liquor while he was at duty on Zirakpur barrier. He got him medically examined after which he was suspended and sent to Police Lines. He was posted in Sector 31 police station.
Sources added that during a routine check last night Assistant Superintendent of Police Alok Kumar, accompanied by Central Police Station8217;s SHO K. I. P. Singh, saw a Police Control Room Gypsy stationed near a hotel in Sector 22. They inquired from them what they were doing there while they were posted near the Sector 17 inter-state bus terminus. As the three personnel, head constable Ram Dyal, driver constable Madan and a homeguard volunteer, smelled of liquor, they were taken for medical examination and found drunk following which they were suspended and sent to Police Lines.
