Four-member interstate gang busted

SOLAPUR, MAY 22: Police has busted an four-member inter-state gang of thieves, involved in stealing motorcycles, with the arrest of the kingpin of the gang.

Police said the head of the gang, Chandrakant Subandare, was arrested by Mandrup rural police on May 17 and was remanded to police custody till May 22 after being produced before a local court here.

Subandare8217;s three accomplices are still at large, police said adding 13 motorcycles were recovered from the gang, which operates in the Maharashtra-Karnataka border districts of Solapur, Sangli, Bijapur, Gulbarga and Pune.

Police have also recovered a revolver from a person on the basis of information given by the gang members.
