SHILLONG, OCT 30: At least four persons, including a police constable, were killed and seven others injured when suspected Bodo militants fired indiscriminately to make way for their escape after robbing Rs 13 lakh from a bank in Jaintia hill district of Meghalaya on Friday, the police said.

Superintendent of Police CID, B L Buam said here that seven suspected Bodo militants, who looted Rs 13 lakh from the United Bank of India UBI, Khliehriat branch at around 1.15 pm, opened fire when they were chased by police and a mob.

The miscreants, however, escaped in a blue Maruti car, police said. A manhunt has been launched in the area to nab the miscreants.
