Foreigner attacked, activists caned

Bajrang Dal activists found a foreigner talking to a young man outside a heritage hotel and mistook them for a couple. While the boy8217;s face was completely blackened, the girl escaped with a small patch of black on the forehead. City SP Ajay Pande said that the victim was a relative of a doctor who had come to India to take part in a conference. According to him, the boy was standing outside because he he didn8217;t have an entry pass. Pande claimed he saved the girl by caning the activists. No complaint was lodged because the victim did not press for it, he said.
