For Rahul, doggedly

Railway Ministry officials are used to getting requests for bookings by self-important people. A number of such requests emanate from 10 Janpath as well. But even these officials were surprised by a request that came last week. It was for an immediate booking for Rahul Gandhi’s dog on the Lucknow-bound Gomti Express. Rahul had left for Amethi and wanted his dog in his constituency. Even though there was no space on the train, the officials scrambled and made some arrangements for the dog to travel to Lucknow.
