Flying colours

Her album Today8217;s Another Day, was a radio hit, reaching the number four position in the independent charts. She has also been offered a role in the film The Chelsea Story staring John Cusack and Naomi Watts. 8220;I have taken up the role. I play the role of a primary teacher in the film. I will start shooting soon after the screenplay is decided for my part. I would also be singing the title track of the film,8221; says Critchley who was chosen as the face of new airline Fly Pink. She has also accepted a request from the Duchess of York, to be a celebrity ambassador for 2008 for her charity.

Having supported hit artistes like the Sugababes and Boyzone on their respective arena tours, Critchley has also sung a duet with Ronan Keating and voiced for a song by Robbie Williams. She is said to be the hottest new prodigy in the international music scene. Her last single Today8217;s Another Day, released in June 2008, reached number four position in the independent charts. Critchley has won Irish Entertainment Award for best live performance in October this year.

While her performance in Mumbai has been cancelled due to security reasons post the Mumbai attacks, the Pune show is on. Crichtley agrees that the incident was an appalling one. 8220;It was quite a shocking thing for every one, but we should not lose hope just because of a few crazy minded people,8221; says the 24-year-old singer. After this tour she will be attending the South by South West, which is a music conference in Austin, Texas.
