Flood control rooms set-up

FATEHGARH SAHIB, June 17: Flood control arrangements in the district are complete and special flood control rooms have been set up at the district headquarter and all the sub-division headquarters.

This was disclosed here today by Deputy Commissioner T.R. Sarangal while presiding over a meeting. He said that revenue officer would be the incharge of the district flood control room while concerned tehsildars would be incharge of flood control rooms at sub-division headquarters. These rooms would start functioning from July 1.

He ordered all the district officers not to leave their headquarters without pre-permission. He asked the health officers to make arrangements to prevent humans and animals from diseases. He also asked the concerned authorities to ensure smooth flow of water and to file detailed reports of unsafe buildings of rural schools.

Sarangal further disclosed that in view of the flood related problems eight boats, one trailer, three engines, 20 life saving jackets and 65 tents had been arranged.
