CHANDIGARH, Dec 25: The Chandigarh crowd will finally be treated to the much-hyped Daler Mehndi nite. The man who has the world singing along with him to the Punjabi numbers, that have a way of topping the music charts, will be performing at the Sector 17 Parade Ground tomorrow.

8220;This will be a charity show to help the handicapped and spastic children at Jeewan Jyoti, the Centre for Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation, in Delhi,8221; said Daler Mehndi, while addressing a press conference on the eve of the Daler Mehndi nite.

The show will also provide him with a platform to promote his new album Tunak Tunak, which is mainly classical, unlike his earlier pop albums. Mehndi said that though he was disappointed with the cancellation of his earlier show on December 5, but that it would not affect his desire to perform in his own state and that he would continue to visit the place. 8220;I plan to hold my shows at Bathinda, Patiala, Sangrur, Gobindgarh, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar and Chandigarh before October 1999,8221; he said.

The show, which is being organised by OGR Events Private Limited, will have Joy Bhatt as DJ. According to the organisers, free passes will be issued to all the children with correct entries in Daler Mehndi Fan Club Contest.

A website on Daler Mehndi, daler.com, is also being launched from Chandigarh for those interested in knowing more about the singer and his projects like Green Drive, Daler Mehndi Fan Club.
