FCI N-E head abducted

Food Corporation of India FCI Executive Director Phoolchand Ram was kidnapped here last night. FCI sources said Ram 59, who is the operational head of FCI in the North East, went missing while he was on his way home from office. His family lives in Delhi.

Ram8217;s official driver Rabi Basumatary 37 and the car, an Ambassador bearing registration number AS-01V- 1353, are also missing. Police said Ram called up his son in Delhi from his mobile phone around 7 am today and informed him that he was kidnapped.

He, however, did not disclose any details about his abductors. The police have registered a case of abduction.
