Fake cold drinks racket busted

In their applications for anticipatory bail, the proprietor of Adam Soda Factory Idris Ahmed and his sons have denied the allegations, adding that their shop has been closed over a long period of time.

Principal Judge A S Aguiar observed that whether the cold drinks and soda manufactured are adulterated and noxious cannot be without the chemical analyser8217;s report. The court also observed that even if the cold drinks are fake, it is for the concerned companies to take action.

The court also observed that in the present circumstances question of granting custodial interrogation does not arise at all. Hence the court ordered the release of Idris and his sons on a bail of Rs 5000 each in the event of future arrest by the police. The accused have been directed to report to the Nagpada police station every evening for a period of one week.

Special Public Prosecutor Vasanti Joshi appeared for the state while Sameer Rajguru appeared for the accused.
