8226; Thanks to Sudheendra Kulkarni for his timely reminder on Q and his links with the powers that be 8216;Q marks dent the halo around a renunciant8217;, January 29. Perhaps now he will turn his attention to the perversions of justice in Narendra Modi8217;s Gujarat, and to L K Advani8217;s incredible lapses of memory in front of commissions of inquiry on the Ayodhya issue. After all, Advani used to be his boss.

8226; We are a small group of people who once used to be friends of the BJP but have been disillusioned since the party lost the parliamentary elections. While Kulkarni is to be congratulated for his forthright piece on Quattrocchi, he mentions at one place that the Delhi High Court had absolved Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors case. Although this is technically correct, we are not convinced that Rajiv was not guilty. We feel that like Q, Rajiv8217;s acquittal was engineered. We also feel that the BJP-led NDA government could have nailed the Gandhi family during its six-year stint.

8226; Volcker, Quattrocchi and Bihar, not to mention Jharkhand and Goa, have exposed the activities of the Congress8217;s Dirty Tricks Department. Pity is that a very decent and capable man like Dr Manmohan Singh has to continuously paper over the misdeeds of his party. He, like any other person with a modicum of intelligence, knows what is being executed under covert directions of the party president. I am sure he is rueing the day the great 8216;Renunciant8217; transferred the mantle of prime minister to him. Hope he does not become a wimp in his desire to do well by the country.

8226; President Pervez Musharraf keeps telling us how to solve the Kashmir problem 8216;On this one, follow the General8217;, January 29, forgetting that he faces insurmountable problems in his own country, including threat to his life. He should utilise his energy in solving them. His dream to dip his finger in the Kashmir pie cannot come to fruition unless our politicians show stupidity in letting it happen. With Musharraf known for changing his statements at the drop of a hat, it would be unwise to attach any importance to what he has said.
