8226; In her column, 8216;8216;Inside Track8217;8217;, Coomi Kapoor8217;s observations on the impending elevation of Prakash Karat as the general secretary of CPIM are uncharitable. Does she mean Karat is less suitable than Sitaram Yechury? Or that Yechury missed the bus because he is more visible in the media? A journalist has to be true to the facts. Mere speculation is poor journalism.

8226; I agree with Tavleen Singh. We live in a heartless world where nobody is concerned about anyone else. As long as the tsunami is in news, it will remain in our minds. After that, nobody will care about how the relief work is going on? And that includes the government too.
