Harare, Feb 23: The final of four one-day cricket matches between Zimbabwe and England was called off by umpires Russell Tiffin and Kevin Barbour on Wednesday because of persistent rain.
The outfield was soaked and further rain was forecast. Harare is on the fringe of tropical cyclone Eline which has caused devastating floods in Mozambique, 300 kilometres away.
England won the previous three matches of this series to reverse the whitewash they suffered here three years ago by an emerging Zimbabwe team.
The England squad now returns home following a Southern Africa tour that has lasted almost four months.
And Zimbabwe will be making final preparations for a long tour to West Indies, beginning on March 4, that includes two Test matches and a triangular series involving Pakistan.
