January 11: A pep talk given by senior Central Railway sports officials, including sports secretary AK Srivastava and football coach Irenio Vaz, at close of play yesterday proved insufficient. Trailing opponents Elf Lubricants by 153 runs, Central Railway, resuming at 183 for seven, were bowled out for 250 at the Elf-Vengsarkar Academy ground today. Elf Lubricants entered the Times Shield A Division final by virtue of a 86-run first innings lead.

Off-spinner Ramesh Pawar, 27 not out overnight, delayed the inevitable by batting stolidly for one hour, before falling leg before to left arm spinner Nilesh Kulkarani for 60 126 balls, 7215;4. Pawar put on 49 for the eighth wicket with Manu Kumar, who scored a quick 23 27 balls, 5215;4.Once Nilesh Kulkarni was introduced into the attack, the Railways innings folded up. Elf will meet Sungrace Mafatlal in the final.
