NEW DELHI, March 28: Rashmi Saxena of The Week and Mannika Chopra of The Telegraph have been elected president and general secretary of the Indian Women Press Corps IWPC in elections held yesterday.

Coomi Kapoor, resident editor, The Indian Express and Anita Katyal of The Times of India were elected vice presidents. Jyoti Malhotra of The Indian Express has been elected joint secretary and Ritambhara Shastri of United News of India UNI has been elected the treasurer. Among the members of the newly-elected executive committee are Mrinal Pande, Usha Rai, Kalyani Shankar and Madhu Trehan.

The other members include Ritu Sarin The Indian Express; Angana Parekh and Gargi Parsai The Hindu; Kum Kum Chadha, Saroj Nagi and Anju Sharma The Hindustan Times; Shobna Jain UniVarta; Ira Jha and Manjari Chaturvedi Navbharat Times; Neelam Gupta Jansatta; Rashme Sehgal The Times of India; Shanta Serbjeet Singh, Shubra Gupta and Ashima Kaul Bhatia freelancers; T.K. Rajlakshmi Frontline; Shubha Singh The Pioneer and Parul Sharma.
