Eco awareness programme

CHANDIGARH, Aug 30: An environment awareness programme was organised in Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 36, by the Environment Society of India today. 100 saplings were planted on the occasion, according to the headmistress of the school.

Various competitions for the students were organised on the occasion. The following are the results of the contest:
Paper reading contest: In senior group, Ritu Sood, Anjali and Deepika all Class X students, respectively stood first, second and third. In the junior group, Gagan Brar of Class VII stood first, Maninder of Class VIII, second and Anandika of Class VI stood third.

Poem recitation contest: In the senior category, Ritu Sood of Class X bagged the first prize, Navneet of Class X stood second and Mandeep Saini of Class VIII stood third. In the junior category, Swati of Class VI stood first, Sunita of Class VII, second and Luxmi of Class VI stood third.

Jute bag making contest:Rishu Mahajan of Class VIII bagged the first prize, Sheela of Class IX stood second and Anu Thakur bagged the third place.
