Call it love
Another serial which we mentioned last wek, is Jeetendra8217;s soap Kanyadaan produced by his wife Shobha and daughter Ekta Kapoor under their banner Balaji Telefilms. It takes off on 19th every Tuesday at 8.30 pm. Directed by Sukhwant Dadda, it8217;s also got quite an impressive cast which includes Kiron Kher, Shishir Sharma, Poonam Narula, Asha Sharma, Rohini Hattangady, among others. The promos and the hoardings all over the city have aroused quite some interest and the soap also seems interesting because it has a lot of twists and turns. Sony organised a sneak preview of the serial at Eros theatre last week. If you love relationships, emotions and drama then you can8217;t afford to miss this one.
Educating us
While on the subject of Sony, of its many programmes that are doing well, Bhanwar is at the top of the heap. Produced by TV18 and directed by Ray C it manages to grip the viewers8217; attention. Now they have come up with a series called Bhanwar Specials. They have lined up some of its best cases with a theme linked to each of them. Each theme will have four parts and will stretch for a month. These cases revolve around a common theme government officers 8211; victims of the system, crimes against women. The aim behind this is to educate viewers, give them legal clues, to empower them with the knowledge of do8217;s and don8217;ts. Like for instance what should a rape victim do after the outrage or what can a young child, exploited for labour do? Isn8217;t all this interesting and educating? We really need some more shows like this.
Music, music
Speaking of Himesh Reshammiya, he8217;s one of the success stories of Tellywood and now Bollywood also. You must know, he8217;s doing a great job as a composer and his music in the Salman Khan film Hello Brother has topped the countdown shows and music charts. In case you didn8217;t know he is the son of veteran composer Bipin Reshammiya. And now, believe it or not, he8217;s got more than half a dozen films up his sleeve which included Govinda8217;s Chalo Ishq Ladaye, Salman-Karishma8217;s starrer for David Dhawan, Ketan Desai8217;s Yeh Hai Jalwa among others. And this is something that must be appreciated as apart from producing and composing, all the stories for his soaps are conceived by him and even the music for his serials is his.
Marry Me
We told you the marriage season was on because a lot of our telly stars like Rohit Roy, Madhavan tied the knot8230; but seems it8217;s still on. A few days back, Anoop Soni who8217;s doing extremely well on television with serials like Saans, Chhoti Si Aasha, got married to a Delhi girl, after which he went to Maldives for a honeymoon fortnight even as his film, the Shabana starrer Godmother was released. Dying to know who the girl is? No, she is not an actress but an MBA. Soni has also moved into his new flat at Yari Road. And on the work front as he awaits his daily soap Kartavya, he has signed up his first sitcom I Love You with Shruti Ulfat as his wife which is scheduled to hit Sony next month.
