Dutt meets Sonia

Actor and a 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict out on bail Sanjay Dutt was reported to have met Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her residence on Monday. The actor was said to have called on her to thank her for her support in times of crisis.

Party spokespersons, however, refused to deny or confirm the meeting. 8220;We will be able to confirm or deny the meeting only tomorrow,8221; said Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmad. Contacted in Mumbai, Sanjay8217;s sister and Congress MP Priya Dutt refused to talk about it.

After he had been convicted to six years imprisonment for illegally possessing guns, the Congress chief had met his sister and party MP Priya Dutt and reportedly extended her backing for the family.
