Dutt earns Rs 20 in prison

When actor Sanjay Dutt walked free out of Yerawada central prison on Thursday morning, he was richer by Rs 20 paid for the work done by him under rigorous imprisonment drill. Dutt, a convict in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, who spent three weeks behind bars had been weaving and enmeshing bamboo chairs under cane work category of manual labour, Jail Superintendent Rajendra Dhamne said.

He was treated as an unskilled labourer under training, which entitled him to wages for the eight hours shift called 8216;vardi8217; in jail parlance.His work hours were counted after he finished learning the job which totalled 16 hours, Dhamne said.
