
VADODARA, Dec 17: Officials of the District Supply Office DSO inspected a foodgrain shop in the Warasia area and seized groundnut oil worth more than Rs 22,000 on Thursday.
According to DSO Ashok Singh, the oil was seized at the Jalaram Trading Company after variation was found in the stock and sale records. Stating that further inquiry was on, he said his office would conduct raids on kerosene dealers throughout the district to check irregularities.
Informing Express Newsline about a novel development in the city, he said that Bharat Petroleum had introduced a customer-friendly scheme at Bhatia Petrol Pump, near Hathikhana from Thursday under which customers could get the petrol scientifically checked. The scheme 8212; claimed to be the first in Gujarat 8212; was launched at a function, which was attended by several senior officials of the oil company and district administration including District Collector Anil Mukim.
