The driver of city-based activist Kanu Brahmbhatt has lodged an FIR against four unknown people at the Sayajigunj police station on Monday evening for trying to abduct him while he was driving back Brahmbhatt8217;s car home.
Suresh Patel has said in the FIR that the car developed a snag near the Jetalpur underpass while he was returning from the railway station. Four unknown people approached and offered him help.
As soon as the car started, the accused gagged him and forced him to get into the rear seat. The accused drove the car towards Karjan where they rammed the vehicle against a tree.
Investigating Officer, R J Pandor at the Sayajigunj police station said they are trying to ascertain the facts of the case.
Meanwhile, Brahmbhatt, who is now in Mumbai, has cast doubt on the allegation made by Patel.
He said: 8220;The complaint is baseless. The driver came to drop me at the station as I was going to Mumbai on September 12. I had asked him to park the car in a society at Jetalpur Road, which is just a few minutes away from the railway station. My relatives stay there and they had offered him dinner as well, but he refused saying that he had other plans with his friend. The driver might have consumed liquor and possibly rammed the car.8221;
