Salman finds no takers

It seems none of the actresses who’ve been approached to star opposite Salman Khan in the Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam remake are jumping at the offer with open arms. Kareena Kapoor didn’t seem too keen, Aishwarya Rai opted out the minute Salman’s name came up and Rani Mukherjee has asked for time to mull over the offer. The film’s producer Pritish Nandy is keen to have Saathiya director Shaad Ali helm the modern-day remake, but the young film-maker hasn’t committed yet either. Incidentally, Kareena Kapoor and Preity Zinta also rumouredly turned down the second-heroine role in Salman’s Hollywood project, Marigold. Neither wanted to play second fiddle to a phirang leading lady. Interestingly enough, director Willard Carrol hasn’t been very successful in finding a Hollywood actress for the starring role either. The search, as they say, is still on.
