SIRSA, Nov 17: Dr Anjana Agnihotri, the in charge of the Agnihotri Surgical and Maternity Home, Mandi Dabwali, in Sirsa district has been booked under Section 304 A of the Indian Penal Code IPC, for allegedly causing the death of a patient after she was operated upon for her fourth delivery at the nursing home.

Nand Lal said his wife Santosh Rani 35 was admitted to the nursing home where she delivered a healthy male child through the caesarean section yesterday.

After some time of the delivery, Dr Anjana asked Nand Lal to immediately arrange for blood. He alleged that though Santosh8217;s blood group was AB positive, she was given B positive. Nand Lal said immediately after, Santosh8217;s condition started deteriorating and after some time she died. However, the doctor said a person having AB positive group can be easily given blood of either group A positive or B positive, and asserted that the death was due to respiratory failure.

The body of the deceased was brought to Civil Hospital, Sirsa, yesterday for a post mortem.
