CHENNAI, May 2: The MGR-ADMK leader S Thirunavukkarasu today said he would not align with any political party or Front that 8220;directly or indirectly8221; supports the Jayalalitha-led AIADMK.

8220;There is nothing wrong in making such an inference,8221; he cryptically remarked to media persons, while replying to a pointed query on whether his party was moving closer to the DMK. The Jayalalitha bete noire, who broke away from AIADMK before the last Parliamentary elections, criticised Congress, Left parties and also TMC for voting against the Vajpayee Government and aiding Jayalalitha8217;s destabilisation game. 8220;We do not approve of the TMC voting against the Vajpayee Government,8221; he said.

As for the Left, he said that the Communists were confusing the public by talking about the Third Front because they cannot align with the Congress in their strongholds 8211; Kerala and West Bengal.

Asked if the MGR-ADMK would face ideological hassles in aligning with the BJP, the MGR-ADMK leader shot back: 8220;Which party in thiscountry enters into electoral alliances based on principles?8221; He went on to add that Prime Minister AB Vajpayee had presented a secular image.
