
New Delhi, April 19: Meerut-based Digvijay Singh, who sank a round of two-under 70 for a combined seven-under 137, continued to be atop the leaderboard on Day Two of the Rs 12-lakh Hampstead Open Golf tournament, here at the DLF Golf and Country Club on Wednesday.
Trailing the leader were five-under 139 SSP Chowarsia and India8217;s top amateur Ashok Kumar. Both carded 70 each. Gaurav Ghei8217;s 70 pushed him to the third spot where Shiv Prakash and Uttam Mundy gave him company.
The day8217;e best score, four-under 68, was tallied by Feroz Ali and his nephew Raju Ali.
Digvijay, who felt his 8220;hitting was terrible,8221; had birdie on sixth and 17th holes, plus an eagle on the 18th. His report card also showed bogies on seventh and 11th holes.
After the cut was applied at 153, 53 professionals and seven amateurs made the final rounds.
