
HISAR, Nov 30: Kuldip Singh Dhindsa, a senior professor at the CCS Haryana Agricultural University CCS HAU, has been conferred with the prestigious MAN OF THE YEAR award for 1998 by the American Biographical Institute ABI.
According to a communication received from the ABI, Dhindsa has been chosen for his overall accomplishments and contributions to science and society. The award is conferred on persons of eminence who have significantly enhanced world communities and professions.
Dhindsa, has also worked as Head of the department, Dean basic sciences, Dean, postgraduate studies and Director students welfare. Currently, his research team is engaged in the development of cost-effective and environment-friendly agrochemicals.
A fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, Dhindsa has worked in Germany and USA and has been the recipient of the Dr Ambedkar National Award, an Indian National Science Academy Award. Meanwhile, S.K. Bhatia, professor in the department of animal nutrition, has been elected fellow of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences NAAS. In a communique, the president of the academy, R.S. Paroda, who is also director- general of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research ICAR, while extending congratulations to Bhatia, asked him to join as fellow of NAAS from January next.
