
Admitting to a growing relevance of a State level perspective in national planning, Planning Commission said on Thursday that developmental issues would have to be analysed and resolved at the State level to have the desired impact.

Major developmental issues need State-wise analysis and resolution in order for policies and programmes to have the desired impact on national development,8217;8217; deputy chairman Planning Commission K. C. Pant said here. Speaking at the release of a 200-page compendium on 8216;Successful Governance Initiatives and Best Practices,8217; he said the mid-term appraisal of the Ninth Plan had clearly reflected design weaknesses and poor implementation of schemes at the grassroot level as affecting the impact of plan programmes and complete realisation of funding.
