NEW DELHI, MAY 5: Joint Commissioner of Police South Amod Kanth on Wednesday said that there was a clear attempt to destroy evidence at Qutub Colonnade but evaded questions on why the police are not going ahead and registering a case.
quot;It is an accepted fact the blood stains had been removed and the liquor bottles from the party had also been taken away. There was clearly an attempt to destroy evidence, quot; he said at a press conference. When the police arrived on the scene, there were hardly any blood-stains on the floor, they recovered only three bottles of liquor and there were no coupons which the people had exchanged at the bar counter for drinks.
The police also have a witness in the form of a waiter who has admitted that he had wiped the blood from the floor after the incident. Lawyers believe that it makes for a clear case of destroying evidence under Section 201 of the IPC.
quot; She had no licence to sell liquor, quot; said Kanth.
