The Deols are going through a difficult phase right now. First, there was the major fire on the sets of their film 23rd March 1931: Shaheed, which caused them a huge financial loss. Bobby Deol had to handle the crisis on his own in Mumbai as Dharmendra and Sunny Deol were in Canada for some stage shows. But that is not to say Papa and Bhaiya Deol were having a great time abroad. Their first show was called off because of some technical problems. And the second and last show turned out to be a nightmare: It started almost two hours late, and the crowd went completely out of control, to the extent of refusing to let anyone perform on stage by passing rude personal comments on Dharam paaji. The organisers eventually called off the show, but the crowd didn8217;t stop abusing the Deol khandaan and even stoned Sunny8217;s car when he left the auditorium. Maybe it8217;s time for the Deols to pay a visit to Ekta Kapoor8217; favourite numerologist.
Dil Diya
After the release of Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, Diya Mirza was reported to be having an affair with Salman Khan, as she was regularly spotted at the Khan house by many filmwallas. But the truth is finally out: She was frequenting the Khan house, not to see Salman, but to meet Sohail Khan8217;s bro-in-law Bunty Sachdev. Reliable sources say that after a steady relationship, Diya has finally confessed to being in love with Bunty. We knew that sometime ago, Ms Mirza, just wanted you to endorse it.
Team Spirit Evaporates
THE verdict is out and Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage is a disaster. But no one is ready to take the blame. The film crew 8212; producer Mohan Kumar, director Vikram Bhatt and lead actor Hrithik Roshan 8212; are all pointing fingers at each other. Kumar is upset with the director8217;s final product while Bhatt, on the other hand, is complaining to all and sundry that the producer didn8217;t manage to get enough dates from Hrithik Roshan; there were all of 12 dates from the star in the 2001 calendar year. Hrithik Roshan, too, is unwilling to shoulder any of the blame. And in every interview, the filmwallas say that they all work like a team. Once the film flops, team spirit khallas!
Reality Bites
MAHESH Manjrekar8217;s one opportunity to direct Amitabh Bachchan has just slipped away. Manjrekar was supposed direct Feroz Nadiadwala8217;s Kutumb, which will have Bachchan Senior, Bachchan Junior and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. But the producer was so impressed by the success of Raaz that he changed his mind and decided to give the project to its director Vikram Bhatt. Just a gentle reminder, Mr Nadiadwala, your new director was also responsible for subsequent films like Aap Mujhe Achche Lage and Awara Pagal Deewana!
Playing Saif
WHY didn8217;t Na Tum Jaano Na Hum do well? The title says it all. This film had three lead actors, Hrithik Roshan, Esha Deol and Saif Ali Khan. But chotte nawab is upset with the makers because when they approached Saif with the role, they convinced him that his role would be equal to Hrithik8217;s. Saif being Saif, didn8217;t bother to cross-check with the script. But when the final print was out, he discovered that he had only six scenes in the whole film, while Roshan was forever on-screen. Next time, we suggest, Saif should play safe.
