PANCHKULA, Nov 23: The House Owners8217; Welfare Association HOWA, Sector 11, has demanded to take immediate steps to complete the ground floor of the community centre and start construction work on the first floor immediately. Giving this information, president of HOWA Uggar Sain Sharma said the foundation stone of the community centre was laid by the then chief minister of Haryana on November 1, 1997.

He added that in the public meeting, the chief minister had assured the residents that the building of the community centre would be completed before December 31, 1998. Sharma said that two years have elapsed but the building has not yet been completed and the construction work of the building is very slow.

He said that in the absence of a community centre in Sector 11, the residents are forced to seek booking in community centres of other sectors, especially in case of marriages. Also, the Association has stated that it had sent a letter to the Chief Minister, Haryana, for constructing the building on the first floor for providing one big hall and two rooms because the area of this community centre is very less as compared to the community centres in other sectors.

The Association has further stated that in a grievances committee meeting held on March 31, 1999, under the chairmanship of the then HUDA Administrator, Devender Singh, he had passed orders that the plan of the second storey of the community centre be completed before April 15, 1999. However, no action has been taken so far by the department concerned.
