PUNE, FEB 7: Delhi, having lost the initiative early, did well to get back on track with a superlative effort in their second essay and put themselves in line with a fair possibility of an outright win in their Group `B’ Ranji Trophy Super League tie against Maharashtra.

On the penultimate day at the Nehru Stadium today, the visitors piled up 447 for 4, which left the host’s with a huge 383 run target, which called for a declaration by Nikhil Chopra, and seek victory from the 105 overs available on the fourth day — including 15 mandatory overs.

But the all-rounder’s steely resolve saw him compile a useful innings of 43 and helped the hosts secure the crucial first innings lead in their Group C Super League Ranji Trophy match at the Race Course here on Sunday.
