Hate travelling to Delhi? Well, now you can get a touch of Mumbai in the capital, thanks to Queenie Singh Dhody and her husband, Raja. Last month they teamed up with Baba Ling of Ling8217;s Pavillion to open Imperial Garden. And the launch party was one of the most glamorous dos that Delhi had ever seen with Rhea Pillai Dutt, Suneet Verma and Ravi Bajaj in attendance. quot;Raja loves food, In fact he is a great cook. He can cook everything even French food. I often leave the cooking to him, quot; says Queenie. But why Delhi? Childhood friends, Raja and Baba found they had a lot in common when Baba epxressed a desire to open a place in Delhi and Raja decided he wanted to own a restaurant there. With wife Queenie, a former Miss India, being at one time among the capital8217;s more successful models the collaboration made perfect sense.
Imperial Garden can sit 186 people, and is split over three floors. They gave a small garden outside and in keeping with Chinese tradition there is a pond inside the restaurant. quot;Water is mean to be good luck, quot; says Queenie. And judging by the restaurant reviews, luck is already on the Dhodys side.
