   60-year-old man shot
Three unidentified car-borne assailants shot a 60-year-old man in the busy Navyug Market commercial complex in Ghaziabad on Thursday afternoon. Though the borders of the district were sealed immediately and an extensive vehicle check was ordered, none of the accused have been arrested yet.
Sixty-year-old Navrang Sharma had gone to a photostat shop in the market. As soon as he came out at around 3 p.m., the three miscreants fired 10 to 12 times at him. Navrang was shot three times and died on the spot.
The three assailants had reportedly been waiting outside the shop in a Maruti car. Later, the police said that they used a 9 mm pistol and a .32 bore revolver in the killing.
One of Sharma’s sons was reportedly named in the murder of Kiranpal Tyagi, brother of local Samajwadi Party MLA Rajpal Tyagi. Later, some members of the Tyagi family were allegedly named in the murder of Sharma’s son.
Sharma’s other son, Mukesh Pandit, was arrested under the Gangster Act a few days ago in connection with the attack on Rajpal Tyagi’s son.
