NAGPUR, SEPT 30: Acting Vice-Chancellor J S Saharia on Thursday reassured students of Nagpur University that the marks scandal would not affect their future in any way. More than 200 students from here have gone abroad in the last two months, he told a gathering at the Laxminarayan Institute of Technology LIT.

Saharia said, it was a rumour8217; that foreign embassies were refusing visas and employers were rejecting job applications of those holding Nagpur University degrees. A thorough inquiry in various quarters including business and industry associations all over the country was made, he said, and it was found that the scandal has not affected the students8217; prospects in any way.

quot;It was just a handful of people who were engaged in the wrong doing. Most of them have already been identified and the system tightened to sew up any loopholes,quot; he said. He said, OSD Kishor Gajbhiye and he were foreigners8217; who had to be planted8217; in the university owing to the circumstances.
