DCB issues summons in builder case

VADODARA, Feb 15: The DCB of the Vadodara Police Commissionerate has sent summons to all the people named in the First Information Report filed in connection with the attempt on the life of builder Upendra Patel in the city on Wednesday.

According to official information, the summons were sent under Section 160 of the CrPC to Dandia Bazaar resident Himanshu Desai, Vishwas Colony resident Arvind D Jani, Jayanand Society resident Kirtikant T Soni, Ellora Park resident Jayesh Dave and Govardhanji Haveli resident Rohit N Shah. A case was registered under Sections 307 and 120-B of the CrPC following the murder attempt.

An official spokesman said another accused, Mumbai resident Rajendra Desai, had already appeared before the police on Monday and was being quot;interrogatedquot;.

Incidentally, DCB investigating officer R A Munshi has also issued an appeal, asking members of the public to inform the police over phone nos 460407, 431500, 425555 or 100 if they were aware of the whereabouts of those summoned.

Patel, who is still in hospital, has not yet spoken to the police.
