Daylight robbery in Gariahat

In a daring daylight robbery, four youths decamped with cash, jewellery, antique watches and three mobile phones from a flat in Rashbehari Avenue on Tuesday.

In a daring daylight robbery, four youths decamped with cash, jewellery, antique watches and three mobile phones from a flat in Rashbehari Avenue on Tuesday.

The youths, posing as salesmen of a mobile company, forced their way into the third-floor flat of 82-year-old Sachindra Kumar Ray.

The robbers hit Ray on the head, before escaping from the spot.

After the robbery, Ray called his nephew Sabyasachi Banerjee and informed him about the incident.

Banerjee subsequently lodged a complaint with the Gariahat Police Station.

A police officer of the Gariahat Police Station said, 8220;We are investigating the case.8221;
