DAV colleges to have governing bodies soon

CHANDIGARH, SEPT 14: An action programme for the formation of Statutory Governing Bodies of various DAV Colleges of Punjab and Chandigarh as per the University rules/Security of Service Act, would be launched soon. This was decided in a meeting of the presidents and secretaries of DAV Colleges of Punjab and Chandigarh, held recently at DAV College, Chandigarh. In a statement to the press that representatives of these bodies would be sent to the Vice-Chancellors of various universities as well as DPI Colleges, Punjab and Chandigarh.

He added that the action is taken as the DAV Colleges in Punjab and Chandigarh are working without any statutory bodies. The members also disapproved special grades being given to any category of college employees including the principals. As per the issued statement, these are in violation of rules and are on an arbitrary basis. The meeting also resolved to work for suitable employment of the wards of the employees, who die in service.
