9 flights cancelled due to dense fog

Air traffic at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Mohali, was disrupted on Wednesday due to dense fog, resulting in the cancellation of nine flights during the day. The disruption caused inconvenience to passengers.

According to airport authorities, three arrival flights were cancelled because of poor visibility. These comprised flights arriving from Pune, Delhi, and Hisar.

In addition, six departure flights were cancelled amid persistently low visibility conditions. The cancelled departures consisted of flights bound for Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hisar, and two flights to Delhi.

Airport officials stated that due to dense fog, visibility dropped below the prescribed safety standards, compelling airlines to cancel flights as a precautionary measure. Passengers have been advised to check the status of their flights with the respective airlines before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience.
