MUMBAI, July 22: Dacoit gangs struck twice early on Tuesday and looted passengers on the Mumbai-bound Dehradun Express. An armed gang looted Rs 23,500 in cash from passengers of the Western Railway train. Railway police said about seven to eight persons brandishing knives entered their general compartment at around 3.45 am somewhere between Borivli and Mahim stations and demanded that all valuables should be handed over to them. Most of the passengers were asleep and taken by surprise when confronted by the gang. They jumped off the train under cover of darkness after warning the passengers not to resist and attempt to follow them.
