PUNE, July 1: An alert driver foiled a dacoity attempt on the medicine-laden truck he was driving, leading to the arrest of one of the four dacoits involved, early this morning at Boriyandi village near Yavat on Pune-Solapur road.
According to the police, a truck carrying medicines was going to Hyderabad when four dacoits in a Tata Sumo followed it. When truck driver Shaikh Muhammad Moosa sensed something amiss, he directed the cleaner to climb atop the cabin.from where he saw a dacoit hop onto the rear of the truck.
The driver immediately drove for Yevat and informed the police. The police swung into action and intercepted the Sumo at village Boryandi where they arrested arrested Sitaram Sisodiaya who hails from Madhya Pradesh, and seized the Sumo while the other dacoits escaped under cover of darkness.
