CSD canteen opens in SAS Nagar

S.A.S. NAGAR, July 22: An extention counter of the Western Command Canteen has begun function in this township. It was inaugurated by the Chief of Staff, Western Command, Lt Gen H.R.S. Mann today.

A large number of serving as well as retired defence personnel were present on the occasion. Located in house number 1034 in Sector 71, this canteen will benefit about 6,000 serving as well as retired personnel residing in S.A.S. Nagar and the surrounding areas of Ropar District.

The canteen will function daily from 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. except on Sundays and Central Government gazetted holidays.

Setting up a CSD canteen here area was a long-standing demand of the ex-servicemen settled in this area. They will now be able to purchase all items of daily needs as well as other utility or consumer items without having to travel all the way to Chandimandir canteen or the annexe canteen in Chandigarh.
