
Unidentified body found
The body of an unidentified youth was recovered from the railway tracks near Varnama village, on Monday, government railway police sources said. The body was cut into parts by the Gandhidham-Mumbai Kutch Express that passed through the area at 6.15 a.m, sources added.
Driver looted
Two miscreants looted an autorickshaw driver Buddhbhai Vasava near Sankarda village under Chhani Police Station on Sunday night. The miscreants also pushed the rickshaw into a roadside pit. According to the police, the miscreants had hired the rickshaw from Padra to Sankarda village for Rs 250. However, when they neared Sankarda village around 11 p.m. they asked the driver to stop. They then snatched Rs 1000 from the driver and escaped after pushing his rickshaw into the pit. No arrests have been made so far.
Suicide
An 18-year-old girl Shabana Pathan, a resident of Fatehgunj, committed suicide by consuming insecticide at her house on Monday morning. She was rushed to the Bhailal Amin Hospital around 12.15 p.m. where she died in the evening. The cause of suicide is yet to be ascertained. A case has been registered in the Fatehgunj Police Station and investigations are on.
Thefts
According to two theft cases registered with the police, cash and goods worth Rs 28,700 were stolen from two different houses in the city on Sunday night. According to the police, miscreants entered the house of Mohammedkhan Pathan in Amina Bibi Kabrastan, Karelibaug area, through the main door which was left open and stole cash and ornaments worth Rs 16,100. The incident is assumed to have taken place between 12.30 a.m. and 6.30 a.m., according to police. In another incident, cash and valuables worth Rs 12,600 were stolen from the house of Jatinbhai Lalchandra on Syed Vasna Road. Investigations are on.
