Warden beats up studentAn MCom (final year) student on Sunday sustained minor bruises in a scuffle with the warden of N V Hall Boys' Hostel of M.S.University over food. Sayajigunj police said a minor altercation between student Ajay Shah and warden K V R Mirthy around 11 am over quality of food and its prices. Student leaders Hetal Shah and Prashant Patel alleged that of late Mirthy had been indulging in highhandedness and when it was objected to by Ajay, he was beaten up by him and a clerk. Wheatish complexioned and five feet and one inch tall Sejal was wearing a blue Punjabi suit when seen last on Saturday.RobbedSURAT : Four unidentified people intercepted a truck (WB 23 3488) near Vaanjh village on the outskirts of the city on Sunday and escaped with Rs 20,000 after injuring three occupants of the truck, according to a complaint registered in the Sachin police station by truck driver Dukhansingh Rajput. Rajput alleged that their truck was intercepted by four people, aged between 25 and 30, travelling in a red Maruti van. The accused beat up the truck occupants and escaped with the booty. A case under section 394 of the IPC has been registered, the police said, adding no arrests have been made so far. Top
