Armed loot
Armed with sharp-edged weapons, two miscreants looted a man of Rs 2000 at Udhna on Tuesday night and escaped, a case registered in the police station said. The complainant, one Prabhakar Patil, a resident of Bharuch, told the Udhna police that he had hired an autorickshaw in which one of the accused was already seated and was later joined by the other. According to Patil, when the rickshaw reached plot no 70 at Udhna, the two accused threatened him with knives and forcibly took away Rs 2000, after which they pushed him out of the vehicle. The complainant added that the unidentified driver also assisted them in the crime. A case has been registered in the Udhna police station and is being investigated.

Vehicles stolen
Two vehicles were reported stolen in separate cases of vehicle thefts registered in the Mahidharpura and Varachha police stations of the city. One Mohammed Abbas told the Mahidharpura police that he had parked his Hero Honda motorcycle GJ 5 AC 5252 at Alaya Ni Wadi area of Mahidharpura from where it was stolen. The complainant stated that the vehicle was stolen between 9 and 10 pm. In another case registered at the Varachha police station, a TVS Suzuki motorcycle GJ 5 B 9773 was stolen. Ashit Shah told the police that he had parked his vehicle at Mini Bazaar in Varachha, from where it was stolen. Cases under IPC 379 have been registered at the respective police stations.

Burglary
One Jitendrasinh Mahada, a resident of Bungalow No 60 at Ganga Jamuna Row Houses, complained to the Rander police that unidentified people broke into his house during the night hours and decamped with gold and silver ornaments along with a walkman, all worth Rs 9,500. A case of theft has been registered in the police station.
